Dealing With Loneliness
Can I be honest with your guys?

These last few weeks have been pretty tough. I faced two MAJOR changes within weeks. My best friend & nephew aren't living as close to me as they have been for the last 8 years, and Marq started working on Saturdays.
Now for some of you that may be like, uh... ok. But let me tell you a little about myself. I am a family person. If you follow me on social media you know and see that family is everything to me. I spent everyday with my sister and nephew. Saturdays were my favorite day of the week! I got to wake up with my boys, have breakfast, relax, do something fun as a family.
Do you get it now?
Loneliness began to creep in. I began to soak in what I didn't have. Yeah I can still take Jax to do things but its no fun alone. Yeah I have other friends, but they aren't Nina or Marq.
After sitting in these feelings, I began to isolate myself from everyone else. Isn't that the strangest thing? You would think that my loneliness would drive me to the other people around me right?
Well, this morning I had an eye opening moment.
It should be not surprise that isolation follows the feeling of loneliness. I mean its the perfect set up for the devil to have a field day by filling your mind with thoughts like;
"Don't bother hitting them up, they don't want to hang out with you."
"Look, they are hanging out with everyone else but you."
"You don't need anyone else, stay in this place, no one will understand."
These are the thoughts that filled my mind! But you know what I had to fall back on? The word!! The B I B L E!
Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things. Philippians 4:8
After meditating on this verse, I realized that none of those thoughts were true. I realized that I had created a mental movie in my mind, and allowed my thoughts to drive me to isolation!
I want to encourage yall today (As I encourage myself) to fight back against feelings of lonliness. Fight back against the urge to isolate yourself and sit in your feelings. Surround yourself with people who you know care, even if its a struggle to send that text or make that phone call. Dive into the word. Read scriptures that apply to your situation.
