Rivers In The Badlands
“Forget about what’s happened; don’t keep going over old history. Be alert. Be present. I’m about to do something brand new. It’s bursting out! Don’t you see it? There is is! I’m making a road through the desert, rivers in the badlands.”
Happy Monday sweet friends. I pray that yall had a great weekend and are ready for a new week! If not this verse will motivate you to put a little baptist two step in your walk, some pep in your step, and bring some joy to your Monday!
I don’t know about you but I can be a dweller. I spend a lot of time thinking about what I could’ve done, should’ve said, and I replay conversations in my head a few 100 times a day. I am guilty of being distracted by my responsibilities and thoughts about the future, which is why when I read this verse my soul was shooketh (beyond the point of shook.)
It made me wonder “How many times has God been unable to do something new in my life because I am spending my time focusing on the old?” We are constantly asking God for more. More wisdom, more grace, more blessings — but are we making room to receive it?
It’s time to unlock those blessings ya’ll!
“Forget what’s happened; don’t keep going over old history.”
What is it that you’re holding on to? Is it something someone said about you? Shame? Guilt? Greed? Whatever it is, it’s time to start working towards letting that go. It may take time, but God honors our efforts.
“Be alert. Be present. I’m about to do something brand new.”
What are your main distractions? Social media? TV? Your thoughts? We can not afford to miss what God has for us simply because we were not living in the moment. We have to position ourselves to be present, and expectant. God has promised to take us from glory to glory. Let’s be alert!
It’s bursting out! Don’t you see it? There is is! I’m making a road through the desert, rivers in the badlands.”
It is no coincidence that this scripture starts off by mentioning common distractions that we all face.If we are too busy focusing on the past, going over old history, and not being present and alert we wont see it.
God wants to make a road through your desert. He wants to bring rivers into the dry areas of your life.
Will you make room?
